Setting up a local server to develop a new website

Hi!

I am a new member so looking forward to support from the forum and getting involved over the coming months.

I am just in the process of setting up a local server so that I can develop my website offline first. Do you have any instructions / recommendations on how to get this working? I've managed it on my desktop PC (using WAMPSERVER) but ideally I want to make it work on my MacBook where I will be developing the site.

I have been trying to get MAMP working to no avail! Any tips / advice / links to what the settings should be would be very helpful!!

If you're finished setting up MAMP, you just have to do the same with what you did to Wampserver.
