There are several themes here that I like, however, I do not want a featured content slider where the images are pulled from separate posts. Instead, I would like that space to contain an image gallery that I can easily administer through the dashboard. Is there anyway to accomplish this? Thanks for any and all responses.

Perhaps you may consider using NextGEN Gallery plugin.
