ExpiredOkay, so now I have all the plug-ins installed. When I click preview there is no tag cloud, and there are no thumbnail images showing up either. There is no featured video. What do I need to do to get these working? And how do I upload videos so they show up?
Also the footer reads "Design by: Checking Account. In collaboration with CD Rates, Bank, Savings Account." Can I get rid of that?
How do I place my own image in the header?

Kindly download the oracle mag themes at members area.
There you'll have the latest version of oracle mag themes in 5 available colors.Tag Cloud: have you added tags on your posts? First, make sure that you have some tags added. Second, go to Admin->Settings->WP Cumulus and change the settings. In our demo site, these are the settings:
Width: 270
Height: 250
Color of the tags 404040
Optional second color for gradient: 404040
Optional highlighl color: 000000
Background Color: fffMake sure that the text color complements the background color and don't forget to save settings.
To show your featured video: Upload your video at youtube then go to Admin->Appearance->Theme Settings and write the id of your youtube video.
To show thumbnails at front page, just edit the post and 'Add an Image'/Upload Image from within the post. All the images uploaded/added while editing a post will be considered as attachment to the post. At front page, the theme searches for the most recent attachment on each post,then they will be resized and used as the thumbnails.
Yes, you can edit the footer. Download from the members area to receive a non-obfuscated footer version of the themes.
To change logo, open your theme folder and go to images folder, then change your logo.gif.

ExpiredThanks! I got the tag cloud working.
However I've done what you suggest regarding adding images and they still don't show up. Neither do videos. Do I have to have some widget in my sidebar that I maybe don't have over there? The wp-cumulus wasn't there until I moved it over to the sidebar.

ExpiredYes, the site is healingtowholeness.org. I don't have oraclemag activated however, so I'm working on it in the admin of wordpress and using 'preview' to see the results. I don't want to activate until I get it all working right.
I have to figure out how to put our header image up in oraclemag, centered, and sized correctly. And how to get the videos working.
I really appreciate all your excellent help. Obviously I'm a newbie with Wordpress.

You'll learn its workaround in no time. =)With regards to the images on sidebar, you need to have a Flickr Account.
Drag the flickrRSS widget on the widget area then go to Settings->flickrRSS
and setup your flickr RSS settings. You may also try this ID "95572727@N00".Hope these helps,

ExpiredIt's the images in the posts that aren't showing up. Can you tell me how to get those working. They were added as 'add and image' inside of each post, as you instructed but they aren't showing up in featured article or more article posts.
Also when I drag a widget to the sidebar, the rest of the widgets that are part of the theme disappear!

You should activate the theme to really see how it displays. The preview doesn't work perfectly.
With regards to the posts, creat the 'featured' category and make sure that the posts belongs to this category.
There's no error to this. The default widgets will really disappear when you add widgets at the sidebar widget. The default widgets are displayed only when there are no widgets at the sidebar widget. That's how the theme's sidebar was setup. To modify this, you may edit [themedirectory]/sidebar.php.

ExpiredI've activated the theme at healingtowholeness.org so you can see what I'm talking about now.
I created the 'featured' category and added it to the posts as you suggested.
Here are the issues I'm having:
1. The images do not show up at all with the posts on the front page, but they are there when I click on the article. How do I get them to show up as thumbnails on the front page posts?
2. The 'more' and 'read more' links don't work on the articles on the front page.
3. There is no 'older articles' link at the bottom of the articles list on the front page, which I would like.
4. There is no 'featured video' on the sidebar, though I went to 'appearance, theme settings' and filled in the youtube video ID and saved changes.
5. There is no flickr photos on the sidebar either. I will open a flickr account and add my images there. Hopefully it will show up then.
6. On the 'contact us' form, there is no box to fill in 'name', 'email' or 'subject' so I didn't get how to fill in the info until a friend pointed out that there was a blank space there. Could I add a box to make it obvious where to fill in the info?
7. How do I add 'about' as a link next to 'home'* Home
* Contact Us
* Videosat the upper left?
8. I have an image that I'd like to insert into the header, centered. It is 546 x 220 pixels, and remove the 'oracle magazine' image & 'wpthemedesigner.com' image. How do I do that?
9. The 'email', 'posts' & 'comments' links in the upper right aren't working. When I click on 'posts' or 'comments' I get the following message:
'This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.'
10. How do I slow down the rotation of the 'featured articles'?
11. Many of our article posts are poetry. Can I have the formatting of post recognize the carriage returns? Otherwise the text is showing up as a run-on sentence, which doesn't lend itself well to poetry. I'd like each line to be there with a carriage return after each line.
12. The text in each box is not filling up the whole space of the box. How do I remove the extra space at the bottom of each articles box?Thanks again for your help. I'm really hoping to make this theme work for us.

Thanks for your inquiries. Kindly download again the oracle mag theme at the members area. Updates were added to cater some of your inquiries.
1. On the latest update, there are now 3 ways to display images. First is when you have an image in the content. Second is when you have a 'post_image' custom field. Third is when you have an attachment associated to your post. Your website posts fall under the second way. You can use either of the three.
2. Bug fix made on the latest update. Read More will now work well.
3. On the latest update, aside from the link to 'previous/next entries', we have also added the display of navigation pages. Kindly download the Plugin - WP Page Numbers. Link is located here: http://www.wpthemedesigner.com/2009/10/01/oracle-mag-theme/
4. The featured video only displays when you use the default widgets (or not adding widgets on the sidebar widget area). As alternative, you may download this video plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/smart-youtube/
5. Make sure to download and activate 'Plugin - Flickr RSS Plugin' then drag and drop the flickrRSS widget at the sidebar widget area. That should work.
6. You have to add the form. I recommend using Contact Form 7 plugin. You can download it here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/contact-form-7/
7. Edit each pages and set 'order' accordingly.
8. Edit to header.php. Find < div id="header_2" >. Remove the content within that div then add your image. You need to have basic html knowledge to be able to do this.
9. It's working well. Just open header.php and replace the "#" of Email with "mailto:youremailhere@domain.com".
10. You may edit the value of speed and timeout at js/script.js.
11. You may use the

ExpiredSlowly moving towards getting this up and working for us. I could use some more help with #1 & #11 below. Thanks!
1. No matter what setting I choose in 'featured content gallery' under 'settings' it does not affect any changes on my page. Any idea why it's not working? What do I need to do to get these working? Also most of these posts are syndicated. Maybe that is an important consideration. The 3 ways to display images that you mentioned, I have 'use category selection chosen.

4-10. More time needed to work on these.

1. The theme doesn't use the 'featured content gallery' plugin. So, changing settings won't do anything. You can only change the speed and timeout of the slideshow at js/script.js.
11. The styles were not preserved because strip_tags() was used in displaying the content. To fix this, edit index.php.
Find this line:
echo dp_clean($post->post_content, 350);and replace with this line:
the_content();Note: Be careful in editing the codes. This might cause your website not to display correctly. If you don't get the desired results, kindly ask a web developer to do this for you. It would always be best and safe to let the experts handle matters like this. That would save you time too.
With regards to html tags not working in this forum, that's not a problem. That's how it is. It's a safety precaution for code injections. =)

ExpiredThat explains why the featured content gallery plugin doesn't work! I am trying to get the images that in the posts to show up. I only have 2 showing up and the one in the gallery up top is stretched too much.
Any ideas on that?

ExpiredRegarding #11: I changed the code as you directed. What happened was the entire post showed up under 'more articles'. The images also showed up! That was good. However I want only the first 4 or 5 line of the post to show with 'read more' at the end, like you have in the theme.
Also, the images still didn't show in the slider up top.

ExpiredI cannot get any more widgets to appear in the sidebar. I tried tubepress & smart youtube and they will not show up. I have 4 widgets on the sidebar that are working: recent posts, pages, search & wp-cumulus. I had 2 other widgets that were working that I removed. How come tubepress & smart youtube won't go over?
Also I still haven't figured out how to get the images to show up or how to create the formatting of keeping the post's formatting and only 5 lines then 'read more'. And the image that does show in the slider is much too wide.

You only have two options on how to display the content. It's either you (1)display the entire content and preserve the html tags or (2)display excerpts (first few lines) of the content but loosing the html tags.
Kindly check the tutorial of the plugins you are using. You might have missed an instruction. Tubepress, smart youtube and other plugins have nothing to do with the theme.
With regards to the image being stretched, kindly use an image with proportional dimension to the allotted space for image.
With regards to Flickr RSS, make sure that you wrote the correct ID. Try this ID: "95572727@N00". If you see images then you might have placed the wrong ID earlier.

ExpiredI believe you didn't understand my issue. The widgets of tubepress, smart youtube & flickr rss don't show up at all in the sidebar even when I move them over. Also I have to activate another theme to be able to move any widgets at all, then reactivate oraclemag, as oraclemag doesn't allow me to move widgets.
Is there no way to change settings in the slider you have as part of the theme besides going into js/script.js. That seems very unuser friendly. I want to be able to do fade-out effects, etc. And expecting me to use images that are square like in the settings doesn't work for me. Some of my images are rectangular, etc. The images don't show up at all anyway.
When I changed the style.css 'echo dp_clean($post->post_content, 350)' to 'the_content();' then the images were visible, however I lost the magazine style.
It seems like this theme may not have the characteristics that I need. Do you have another theme that is clean and simple that might be more likely to work for me?

With regards to the slider, these are the current setup of the oracle mag which is a standard theme. If you'd like the theme to be upgraded, kindly post a comment at the Standard to Premium Theme post so we'll consider OracleMag being upgraded to premium theme.
With regards to the style being changed, you might have mistaken on the syntax. Kindly look over on your changes in style.css. Also, it could be because you are now displaying the actual html content.

1. Changing the header and banner: I read that I should go to image folder and look for a logo.gif. Don't see where is theis image folder (all the images I have are the pîctures I already had before migrating from a blog on Wordpress.com)
2. Could you have a look at my new blog with oracle (www. palissandre.biz) and at the "old one" (palissandre.wordpress.com) and help me to insert the name "Palissandre's Blog" and the banner "Chroniques d'un antiquiare passionné d'ArtNouveau" into my new blog.
2. The video option, where do I find the plug-in for it ?
3. The pictures have been resized and are not very nice to look at.
4. What about the register form. How could I recover the one I had previously in french.
5. What about the statistics I had before on my dashboard. I do not find it on this new dashboard.Thanks for any help.
