Step 2 - Creating Content Niche Sites: Choosing Your Niche
Take note that our aim here is to create Content Niche Sites and not Blogs. There is a big difference between the two. Blogs by nature requires constant updating and interaction with readers. While the Content Niche sites we want to create requires zero to no maintenance. In a Nutshell.. pick a Niche, build content, rinse and repeat to build a collection of Content Niche Sites.
How do you choose your Niche?
1. Personal Interest - Take a moment to think about the things you are interested at.. what do you like to read, watch or listen to. Try to list them down and determine those that have potential to be monetized such as relevant contextual ads or range of affiliate programs.
2. Google Adwords Keyword Tool
Website URL: Google Adwords External Keyword Tool
- This is a useful tool to generate keyword ideas but we are going to do more than that by figuring out those high paying keywords. I suggest that you enter a site that has a lot of original and varying content.
- Enter Website URL
- Check the box to include other pages linked from the homepage
- Drop down box choose “Show Estimated Avg CPC”
- Enter a high figure so as to get high paying keywords
3. Find out what is Hot in the Market
Finding out what these hot products are can leads to finding hot niches therefore I suggest you check out http://pages.ebay.com/sell/resources.html or http://sitepoint.com/marketplace browse around and see what people are buying. Also http://www.cbtrends.com/ which is a website that allows the ClickBank affiliates to see the “true” side of the listed in Marketplace products. Clickbank after all is the largest Affiliate Marketing site.
4. Keywords Online Tool / Online Trends
I know a lot of websites offering this service but allow me to recommend the following mainly because I use them myself.

Introduction
I would like to introduce to you another great opportunity to Earn Money Online. I will be making a series of posts to guide you through this step by step. In fact, I will be creating a new Content Niche Site from scratch for the purpose of this tutorial.
Step 1: Develop a Positive Mindset
If you want to succeed at anything, you need to develop a Positive Mindset. You can have the best plan and strategy but with a poor attitude towards your project, you will have a hard time finding success.
This is a new venture therefore, you have to forget your failures in the past. Nor do you have to worry about your financial situation. You simply have to believe that the world is a place of abundance.

No we don’t need a special course or an MBA degree. The only way to get real education is by doing and taking action. Be persistent in your goals and you will become an expert in no time!
- If I work hard I won’t have time for my family or I won’t have time to relax
I have always been a firm believer of a “Work Smarter Not Harder” principle. That is the reason why I plunged into this particular Money Making Idea. I wanted to find an online income generating stream where I can earn passive income in the long run.
Starting a project or a business can be very time consuming at the beginning but give it a few months and you will be reaping the benefits. After all, you simply have to develop a wise Time Management Plan so as not to neglect your social life.
All I am trying to say here is that.. your attitude towards your work will have a big impact on your end result. So always remember to start things right by strengthening your ability inspire and motivate yourself. Here are a few ideas to get you started..

When I started making money online it wasn’t from blogging at all but rather from Freelancing. You see, blogging takes time and it might take a while before you can start profiting from your site. If you do take the freelancing route, it pays the bills right away.
There are lots of jobs available online for you to take on a per project basis. You only have to look at the right places. Here are my recommendations:
Online Forums
DigitalPoint - Specifically go to the Buy, Sell & Trade Section. You can write articles, design templates, create websites, post to forums, sell links.. and a lot more! On the dp forum, members rely heavily on iTrader ratings (positive and negative feedbacks) therefore, you must make sure that you provide what you promised to deliver or else you get a negative feedback and no one will bother hiring you.
SitePoint & TalkFreelance - Usually the kind of projects you get from these forum will give you a higher rate. Projects aren’t as abundant compared to DP but usually they fall into the bigger project scope.
Recommended Freelance Sites
Rentacoder.com - This freelance site caters primarily to the technical side such as programmers, coders, software engineers and IT professionals in general. Some projects could even last for several months.
Guru.com - This is a very large site with a million of registered users. Businesses who are looking to outsource their work to a global audience with minimal costs rely on this site. Opportunities are categorized on the Main Page of the site so it’s quite easy to look for projects you can take on.
Elance.com - Elance is another site you should definitely check out especially when you want to provide content services. Usually, the projects offered here are for writing articles, ghostwriting and copywriters.
Those sites I have listed above are enough to keep you busy and earn you a steady income. I’d like to share a few tips though from my personal experience:
1. Launch a site where you can showcase your Portfolio
- Ask permission from your clients, first.
2. Take Care of your Reputation
- Recommendation and Feedback Ratings matter
3. Overdeliver if Possible
- You easily get repeat clients this way
4. Do not give your work unless Clients Pay,
50/50 method usually works, they pay you 50% of your total payment, you give them the projects you have worked on. They pay the remaining 50%.

If you really want to make money online, you need to create and sell your own product. The internet is a perfect medium to distribute useful information. Thus, creating info-products to sell can highly be profitable.
Creating Info-Product
First, ask yourself what info-product you would want to create. Are you a parent who would want to share insights on good parenting? Do you have a pet dog and would want to share a great way on how you instill discipline to your pet? Anything you can do well that could benefit others can definitely be a great product.
Info Product Set-Up
When you have that all figured out, you need to make your product electronically deliverable. This is the easiest option to take. I highly suggest that you use e-junkie.com, they are reliable and their payment options are reasonable. Why is this? Because all you have to do is produce the product and advertise it. All the collection of payment, delivery, thank you letters and receipts and so on are carried out automatically.
Marketing Techniques
The marketing techniques available which will help in selling your information products, include writing blog entries, creating online campaigns (banner advertisements, plugs, sponsored reviews) and creating a targeted email opt-in list.
Affiliate Program
Offer an affiliate program where your affiliates can sign up, start marketing your product, run promotional campaigns in exchange for a decent commission when a sale is made.

I’m done compiling some really good blogging tips for all of you. For those who would want a better way to save those tips, I’ll produce a pdf version on my free time. Next on my list is to compile the different ways you can Make Money Online. I believe this series would be helpful for you in a way where you could try and check which areas you can possibly explore. I know you guys are waiting for this but before I do that, allow me to share my honest opinion on this matter.
If you remember on the Blogging Tips I have compiled, I have mentioned that you should enjoy and have a passion for blogging. Look at all the big names in the Make Money Online Niche, they have a passion for what they do and money only comes in as a bonus. Money isn’t easy on this very competitive niche. Most of the newbies think that by starting a Make Money Online blog, that’s how they can earn the big bucks. Think again.
If you really want to earn Money Online, sell a product. If you are good at Marketing, then try Affiliate Networking Programs. If you have the skills, try the freelancing route. If you want to earn from ppc ads or Adsense in particular, then start creating Niche Content sites! That’s it!
Blogging requires a lot of your effort and time. It’s more than just posting one article after another. You are interacting with readers. You comment on my post saying that you would want me to compile how to Make Money Online.. I oblige. I respond. I know I have to satisfy an audience.
To be honest, I earn way more from Freelancing and Offering my Design Services than what I get from WPTD. Yet I still think it is worth it. Why? Because I have a passion for Designing WordPress Themes and I get to share it to all of you here. Because I have a passion for blogging and interacting with my readers and I get to do that here. When and if I earn money from this site, truthfully, it’s just icing on the cake.
