I would like to leave a comment for 2 reasons:
1) does anybody knows or have used getafreelancer.com? I have used (as buyer) that sometimes and I feel the rates are lower that elance, for example, but I had issues with quality

2) Is it possible to really make good money as a freelancer (as a service provider?) Or is just as lousy as to have, in fact, a day job?

Hi. I came across this post and thought it offered good advice for people who are trying to break into freelancing. I also thought I might mention oDesk as an additional resource to your readers. I noticed a few people mentioned feeling like the job choices on some of the other sites aren’t too good if you aren’t a paying member. oDesk is completely free to join and apply, so it’s worth taking a look at.
