Page Rank Update July 2008
Just a heads up guys, Matt Cutts announced that Google will be updating our Page Rank over the next few days. I am quite excited to see how WPTD will do, I mean I know my site is just 3 months old but I do think that I have managed to gain impressive inbound links. I checked on Yahoo’s Site Explorer: Inlinks (57,953) for WPTD. We all just have to wait and see then.
1. Does PR Rank actually matter to you? Why?
2. What PR are you expecting for your site?
I am penalized by google before that’s why i got PR0 and so I am craving for a cool pr now. Hope they give me at least 2

I better get a better PR. I’m tired of seeing people have way less backlinks than me yet they have a bigger PR.

I found 2 Datacenters showing PR5 for wptd.
Hopes mine will increase too
My PR is 3/10 in Google…
I don’t know how it perform on other search engine.
But I hardly to raise the PR of my blog anymore…
Anyway hopw WPTD will get ranked somewhere in average ranking…

My PR dropped from 4 to 3
34 of 54 internal pages got 1-2
but you know, in Nov 2007, my site had not opened yet. it got this
Index = 1 (underconstruction page)
Back Link = 10
domain age = 3 months
PR = increased from 0 to 3
and I got 4 on April (I opened my blog on New Year)
PR has nothing to do with me as I haven’t monetized my site yet. but I just can’t ignore it. I’ll be happy to see it rises lol
Do you know if the pagerank update has been updated for most sites? I’m asking because my site has yet to move from a 0 pagerank. I hope the update isnt over because I would be pissed my my site doesnt move to at least 1-2 cause i’d have to wait another 3-4 months just to see improvement.
I was PR 2 on one and PR 4 on another…seems one’s been knocked to a 3! How did that happen? I don’t even do pay per post stuff. And my traffic’s pretty steady…will have to see what happened here.
i was told that the update is done. Looks like most people got some nice raises. BTW, I commented as emma before lol. I forgot that I use my middle name on this blog :p

If you really did get that PR5, that is absolutely ridiculous. In all honesty, this blog doesn’t merit more than a 3 or 4… and 5 is a huge step. Nothing against you, it’s just a new blog with not a whole lot of exposure just yet. I know a LOT of people that got shafted, so you going from 0 to 5 is insane!
I want to know what ends up happening here, that would be the biggest jump I’ve ever seen… so congrats in advance if it holds

@TheNetFool: jim, if this blog is indeed PR5 already.. I know the “exact” reasons why it has achieved this tremendous success. I can list them and give those reasons to you in an instant. However, I’m actually making an ebook out of it which is one of my upcoming projects. It will be for free and I will surely remember to email it to you the day i release it! I sure do hope it holds pr5 but even if it goes down to 3-4 i really don’t mind as it is still a sign of success, as you said this blog is indeed new (3 months to be exact).. everything i have done on this blog since day 1 actually worked. i admit i was lazy at some point (due to family emergencies and such which has kept me distracted) but i want to prove a point. “Something that has been taught excessively online” can actually be done easier and can be done in 3 months
if i will start a new blog again, i swear it will be so much better than this! 
however, wptd will change its direction from now as i am headed to bigger and better opportunities…(so anyway)
from 10million alexa rank on the 1st day down to 13x,xxx in 3 months. That should really tell you something about “my traffic and exposure” 
as for ur argument on exposure, i have to disagree though, i know i hang around on the mmo/entrepreneur niche a lot because that is my interest and i do not hold the same caliber as you guys.. but if you really think about it, i am in the “WORDPRESS THEMES” niche after all.
My blog PR is 2, but my video blog (http://video.persusi.org) drop from 4 to 0. the rest is stuck at 3 and 0

The best I can is PR3 in two weeks…
And wait till two period of Google PR update to get 4. While my other blog still remain PR3. And my new blog from N/A to PR0(Zero)…

My site increased from unranked to PR1. Not bad considering the site is less than 60 days old.
I dont think PR is such a big deal. However, a higher PR helps with selling links / blog posts / advertising.

My pagerank was damaged, it went down. Used to be PR3, now PR2. I am pretty pissed, hopefully the next update will bring me better results.

This is the biggest leap I’ve ever seen! I think it’s because of the link on the free themes right?
I do not know if Google updates the pagerank, but I already has over 1 years with a PR4, every time Google does not put it more difficult to attract visitors to our site, Google wants all the web traffic for them, is not just be left to compete and I am trying to get by with Google Adsense.Pero really earn a pittance if you have it 5 to attract more visitors.
