Not only that, I will also be running a Contest for those of you who would want Premium WordPress Themes to use on your blog. In fact, I have currently gathered 9 Premium Theme Licenses already. So watch out for the details of this awesome contest on the first day of June!!

Meanwhile.. I’ll keep this post short and sweet.

Mistaken Identity and yet with Similar Goals

by ChiQ 24th May 2008    |    13 comments

I’ve been asked a lot of times if I am Small Potato.. (obviously) the answer is no. I read this blog post today and felt the need to set things straight. I know where the confusion comes from.. our domain names. If you wish to know a little something about me though, you can visit my About page and simply call me ChiQ from now on.

However, I won’t deny that our goals are quite similar. I plan to offer as many Free Wordpress Themes as I can and would love to run a similar “themes club” project later on than going for the usual route of selling Premium Themes. Other than that, I believe my personal identity isn’t important at all. My focus will remain on the BIG GOALS that I have set for this site and all the WordPress Themes I will be releasing for the WordPress Community.

Anyway, thank you to everyone who wished me well. As promised, I will be rockin’ and kickin’ again now that I feel better. I have an announcement to make this week, so stay tuned. Is it a fabulous contest? Am I giving away millions? or.. ahm.. uhmm… I am Small Potato? (ugh) .. What’s your guess?

I’m sick

by ChiQ 21st May 2008    |    13 comments

I’m sick right now.. give me time to recover and I’ll start kickin’ again with rockin’ themes once I feel better.

Things to look forward to when I get back:

- The Release of Back To Basic Theme
- More Wordpress Theme Designs
- Forum – Support Questions
- Updated Rebel Mag Theme
- Interesting Blog Posts

By the way, I’ve said this before but I’d appreciate it if you’ll take time to tell me what kind of WordPress Theme you want me to release. I mean, it’ll be rad if you give me design ideas just so I’ll know what you guys want. Oh and do leave a comment (don’t forget your URL) and I’ll take time to visit your blog/site while I’m momentarily just bumming around for now. Be back on Friday, I hope. Till then!

Use plugins to Upgrade your WordPress Blog

by ChiQ 19th May 2008    |    9 comments

My themes do not work for versions lower than Wordpress 2.5 that is the reason why I get a lot of emails each day asking me why the theme isn’t working for them. I am surprised to know that a lot of you are quite afraid to upgrade to the latest version of Wordpress. Maybe because you feel like you are not savvy enough to do this.. or are afraid of messing your blog?

Although manually upgrading your blog by following this step-by-step instruction from the wordpress codex site is easy to follow.. I would highly suggest using plugins to do the work for you.

First, make sure that you back-up your database. I personally use the WordPress DBManager plugin from Lester Chan. This plugin allows you to optimize database, repair database, backup database, restore database, delete backup database , drop/empty tables and run selected queries. Supports automatic scheduling of backing up and optimizing of database.

Next, download and activate the WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin by Keith Dsouza. Then that’s it.. upgrading to WordPress is that easy indeed!

By the way, the forum I have installed on this site is quite boring..so I think I’m going for bbPress to handle support questions. Sometimes it’s really tiring to answer the same questions over and over again. Do you guys have any suggestions in handling Support Questions?
