DoFollow or NoFollow?
I used to own a PR4 Website and I made it DoFollow. Because of that, a lot of people actually take time to comment so as to get some PR juice from the site. However, this made me think as to why other bloggers still refure to join the DoFollow movement? Are they worried of getting a lot of Spam? There’s akismet to take care of that, ey? *wonders*

My blogs are also dofollow. In order to minimize spam comments, I used to moderate all comments. Maybe you must do that also to to avoid receiving irritating spam comments. Akismet is not enough
Personally, I use nofollow because I want to be the one deciding which other sites my blog is “voting” for in Google. In addition, I’ve noticed that the blogs which switch to DoFollow tend to get a lot more spam comments, and I prefer not to deal with that.
I’ve been mulling this over for awhile now. As you say, more people usually take the time to comment when they know a blog is Do Follow.
Perhaps it’s time to test this out.
So, in wordpress, how does one set it up to be “Do Follow” or “Do Not Follow?”
@ash: there is simply a plugin that does exactly that! although you can take time to edit the theme..
I like dofollow, in my blog i can not decide about this because in on wordpress.com, but i think dofollow is the future to get site to the sky quickly. Naturally with moderation of comments.
A couple days ago, my blog which ranked in the top 10 for ‘Blog for Beginners’ suddenly disappear from the Google radar. It has not been delisted yet but it doesn’t rank anywhere even in the top 100.
I’m beginning to ask myself if Google is penalizing me for using DoFollow on my blog. Any opinion?
i’m a nofollow guy

I heard somewhere that DoFollow hurts your PR because it causes “PR leak”.
Dofollo doesn’t hurt pr in my experience and a few others. I am a do-follow person lol

My blog’s PR4 too.
I no-follow.
I select some commentators and link to them with do follow manually
I can do that because my blog don’t get too many comments. lol
akismet will never detect those who post comments just for the sake of posting a comment. you know what i mean, right?

I have use a do-follow plugin ever since I knew about it. If you take time to comment on my blog I think it’s important to give back and with Aksimet and other plugins I never have spam problems anymore.
I would luv to make my wordpress.com blog a dofollow site. Anyone know of a way to make wordpress.com a doFollow blog?
Me nofollow, I mean if you really care about your PR and you make money out of it.
You should prevent leaking the PR juice to other. It’s kinda selfish for some.
thanks
thanks for what?
I have two active sites right now. One is dofollow and the other is not. The only intervention with the dofollow blog is with the anchor text.
Keep up the great work
Feel free to check out my blog
Excellent post. I do have dofollow links on my blog.
I do believe that dofollow links encourage people to leave comments; besides, what’s the harm to the blog owner? Losing PR? Nobody really knows how google considers PR, but what we do know is that more content (comments for example) will certainly help rank better, so thumbs up for dofollow links!
hi how are you
